In 2018, I received a dream assignment—name the next Cadillac.
With Cadillac being named after the French founder of Detroit, one of the territories we tried was French sounding names.
In French, “Lyrique” means “lyrical” but it also means “poetic” and “melodic”.
I removed the “ue” at the end to avoid confusion when it comes to pronunciation. I also liked the idea of ending the name with a Q since it’s pretty unusual in English. Cadillac liked that idea too and made all their subsequent models end with a Q.
